Casinello

HOME FOR OUTDOORSY PEOPLE

About us

Home for Outdoorsy

Casinello is an ancient farmhouse, with its first settlement dating back to the late 18th century, while the main farmhouse originates from the early 19th century.

For the last two centuries, generations of farmers have called Casinello home, initially serving the Benedictine nuns and later the writer Alfredo Oriani and his heirs, the final owners of the surrounding lands of Cardello and the associated Italic Park they designed and created.

Today, Casinello transforms into a haven for the outdoorsy.

A Different Tourism, in Harmony with the Territory

We are two individuals deeply passionate about our homeland, eager to share its treasures with those who are not fortunate enough to reside here.

After two decades of traveling abroad and immersing ourselves in diverse cultures, we could no longer ignore the growing desire among foreign tourists for an authentic and genuine Italian experience. Thus, the idea of converting part of Casinello into guest rooms and holiday homes for slow-paced and outdoorsy tourists was born, with the hope that others will follow our lead.

Our mission is to share the invaluable heritage surrounding us – the traditions, places, products, and flavors – revitalizing the territory and fostering a unique form of tourism, outside the mainstream and mass trends.

Location

Nestled in the Heart of the Romagnola Gypsum Vein

Casinello is situated on one of the hills of the Romagnola Gypsum Vein, boasting a diverse and spectacular panorama: the badlands, typical sandstone formations resembling old scars left by the force of nature, the other peaks of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, and below, the plain stretching undisturbed to the Adriatic Sea.

A Retreat in Nature

Casinello aspires to be the countryside retreat for city dwellers, a sanctuary for avid walkers, and those who relish spending days immersed in nature, exploring the surroundings on foot or by bike, away from the frenzy and stress of more popular destinations.

It is an ideal haven for those seeking to purchase local products and cook at home, reminiscent of days gone by, and for those who enjoy sharing experiences with newfound acquaintances.
